usernametaken 0 #1 July 11, 2010 I am about to order a Voodoo and am lost about colors. Not looking to steal, just see what's possible. Btw, I am getting conflicting advice about V4 holding a new PD 170 and eventually (much, much, later; not stirring the pot). The website says it does but some say it doesn't look good, blah, blah, blah. Furthermore, will an Optimum 176 fit or do I have to stay with the PD 160 R? (I am comfortable with both) Thanks!"Think like a man of action; act like a man of thought." -Henri L. Bergson

I didnt know PD was still making PD-170's. Different designs have different pack sizes, best to CALL them and ask, they've done the research. As far as the Optimum 176, I sure as hell hope it will fit in place of a 160, or Im going to be shit outta luck! (The Optimum has a smaller pack volume than a 160, so I think it will work out) pd-160r microlines - 364 cu in, dacron lines - 385 cu in op-176 microlines - 355 cu in. But I aint no rigga yet, so i's cants tells ya the trufh. Call them at the voodoo place!"I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message
DSE 5 #3 July 11, 2010 call Kit or Brenda. They'll tell you the Optimum should fit. They'll answer about any question you have. They're very good. Rig-wise, they have the best CS I've seen. LOVE my Voodoos, and you can see pix of them all over the place. Here's one from today.

theonlyski 3 #5 July 12, 2010 Well, it looks like you're going to get the V4, so why were you worried about an Optimum 176? It will fit the pdr-176 and Optimums pack smaller. Douglass, That is just the thing, OF COURSE I checked the website and the sizing chart they had AND I called Sandy to confirm what the website said, that yes, a Sabre 2 170 will fit in a V4. His response was it will fit but it might not look to good "like a fat girl in tight jeans" (his words, not mine) and then proceeded to urge me to consider the Talon FX. I love RI, the best rig I have owned so far was my first Talon. Great quality, bulletproof, and fit great. The reason I called instead of just checking the website was last time I ordered a rig I put to big a reserve in the container I requested. Like a typical skydiver, I thought smaller was better and they said it would fit but be tight. Even my rigger said during repack that that reserve was tighter than a nun's, ANYWAY, I didn't want to make the same mistake. Maybe I will order a main with ZPx. I dunno. I have wanted a Voodoo for so long and I love RI and want to support them."Think like a man of action; act like a man of thought." -Henri L. DSE 5 #8 July 12, 2010 I have both Voodoo and TalonFX. I love my Voodoo, but I also love my TalonFX. Similar cut in the yokes, very similar feel in the back. I'd much rather have a "pregnant" FX than a Voodoo. the FX is made to manage "pregnant" but the Voodoo just looks weird. I like my smaller Storms in the Voodoos and like my demo canopy in my FX. Both are awesome, IMO.
whippercrap 0 #9 July 13, 2010 I had a voodoo v4 with a sabre 2 170 and it looked great. Never had any problems packing it or making it look neat. I used a pdr 160 for my reserve.

IMGR2 0 #13 July 20, 2010 I own two Voodoo's and the one in the picture is about 7 years old and about 5000 jumps on it. I absolutely love the Voodoo so much so I am also a dealer for them. I seriously doubt there is any question that Brenda and Sandy can't answer. My original Voodoo was also used in some Atair canopy load testings, for example, head down and sitting deployments, without any stress damage to the harness. AdamUSN 0 #14 July 20, 2010 I have a voodoo v4 with a Saber2 170 and a PDR176. Everything fits like a dream. RI bases pack volume on the Saber2 170. So There are no problems. If you click my username you can see my Rig. Canopy to match also. Blue stab, yellow, red, black, yellow, yellow, yellow, black, blue, yellow, blue stab if you have any questions Mike at Chuting Star did all the work for me and I am extremely pleasedIf you do things that don't make you appreciate life than why do them
