DexterBase 0 #1 March 13, 2010 I just set up my Bonehead mudflap altimeter mount. Very nice looking mount. I had to locate and drill 4 holes to screw the altimeter to the mount, which took about 5 minutes. For those of you that have them, are you removing them each time you pack? Seems like a lot of potential damage to the mount/altimeter if you don't.
pilot-one 0 #2 March 13, 2010 I had one of those for a little while. It gets in the way too much so I just got rid of it. Maybe you'll have better luck with it than I did.

diablopilot 2 #4 March 13, 2010 I haven't removed them to pack for the 5+years I've been using them. No problems. More potential for damage to the 4 point under the "mud flap" by removing it all the time.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. skydude2000 3 #5 March 13, 2010 I use mine with an Alti-track and just use zip ties (bad idea?) on the two loops at the base, so I can still look at the jump data. Seems to work well so far. If it was permanent I'd probably have screwed it down.PULL!! or DIE!!
monkycndo 0 #6 March 13, 2010 I have made a bunch of them similar to Pat's design for other people. Go off and on real easy. Even have one for the Altitrack. I never pull my rig across the ground while packing, so no problems there. Work great for wingsuiting as well.50 donations so far. Give it a try. DexterBase 0 #7 March 15, 2010 I had a chance to do a few jumps with the altimeter mount. It is very easy to see in freefall and packing with it installed didn't present a problem. I'm digging it so far.
