windcatcher 0 #1 August 1, 2004 So, after 3 yrs. of exposure to the skydiving world, 10 jumps, one freeflyer boyfriend (now ex), watching Fandango, Dropzone and Cutaway a dozen times, donning a closing-pin necklace, attending 2 boogies, posting on dz.com, getting excited in high school when I saw backpacks(they reminded me of rigs), falling in love with skydivers, staring at the sky and hypnotically being drawn to airplanes, sticking half my body out the window in someone's car driving 75 mph wanting to feel the wind, and singing "freefalling" everytime it came on the radio, I FINALLY made it to freefall!!! YIPEEEE!!! AFter my last prcp, in which I very quickly pulled the dummy ripcord, I went up 2 hrs. later for my hop and pop--my FIRST freefall. So, I hung on the strut of the airplane for about 7-12 secs. after I was supposed to let go and pulled my own ripcord.... my JM told me I grabbed it really fast, a guy in the plane actually saw me pull it right when I left. So, now comes the delays, which will allow me to relax more and concentrate on my arch. Ah, freefall, now I feel like a REAL skydiver... uh-oh...what did I get myself into??? Sarah Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...
