fluffyduckie 6 #1 January 9, 2010 I am posting here because the gear review have not been updated to reflect several new models of audibles. I like the idea of the Optima or Optima II. Canopy flight is still a challenge for me and I like the additional input. I have a bunch of friends raving about the new N3, but I can't find enough about it to make an informed decision. I have heard great things about L&B's customer service, so that is a plus too. Basically, I have 52 jumps, plan on mostly RW for a while, with a little free fly play once in a blue moon. I tend to avoid water, and want something to scream at me while tracking. My former instructors are hard to reach this time of year so I am reaching out to the community at large. I appreciate the advice!"I love when humans fly,"
EmuuuH 0 #2 January 9, 2010 I've got the L&B solo. It's easy to set up, and gives three signals during freefal. The customer service from L&B is Great! I'f you have a problem, email them, and mostly the same day they email back. with a solution.
Jbag 0 #3 January 9, 2010 i have an LB pro-track, shit works, logs my jumps, and i like it...IHYD
Cueb 0 #4 January 9, 2010 If you want a basic audible without logging, Optima would be a good choise. The canopy alarms will come handy if you're interested in canopy piloting. Solo is the same thing without canopy alarms. Both good and reliable. I have a pro track too, logs your jumps etc. Neptune would do it all, so if you want logging and canopy alarms in one package, that would be worth considering.. I personally bought the pro track first and now I bought the optima.. I don't mind having two audibles.
Ironmanjay 0 #5 January 10, 2010 Ive got the optima for freefall and canopy audible and the viso for a digital visual altimeter which is my jump counter. Ive had a pro-track before too which worked great! You didnt mention anything about wanting a jump counter so I would either go with the optima or solo IMO
fluffyduckie 6 #6 January 10, 2010 I would like to have something that logs jumps, but that is not the biggest concern. I'm pretty good about logging my jumps."I love when humans fly,"

wolfriverjoe 1,340 #8 January 10, 2010 I have (and love) a ProTrack. Easy to set up and use (as long as you read the instructions). Turn it on and forget it. L&B customer service is amazing. I friend of mine put his through the washing machine (in his jumpsuit). It worked for another week and then quit. They replaced it. No canopy alarms, so you may want something else, but I recommend L&B unreservedly."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit."
