mtbriles 0 #1 December 14, 2009 Ive been looking at all the altis/jump computers and this one looks like a winner to me. Does anyone have any experience with this altimeter? And how is Parasport Italias customer service? Why not? My direction in life is up...then down again REALLY REALLY FAST!!! Never take life too seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway. antonija 0 #2 December 14, 2009 1st: I have not seen or used GFX ever. I use neptune 2. 2nd: From what I've read and heard from people GFX is definitely not a winner... it is very close to the end of the pack. Neptune and L&B products are at least one level above it. Parasport's customer service is also not something you'd read about on this forums a lot, unlike alti-2 or L&B. But I hear neox is pretty good...I understand the need for conformity. Without a concise set of rules to follow we would probably all have to resort to common sense. -David Thorne

Telling me I'm at 4k when I'm already entering my landing pattern....? I decided not to believe it... Quote And how is Parasport Italias customer service? Very very crappy, if not non-existant. ciel bleu, Saskia

Well i likes the way it looked and the screen and nav looked simple as well as a huge list of features. Seeing as not one positive thing has been said that confirms i will not be purchasing this alti. Why not? My direction in life is up...then down again REALLY REALLY FAST!!! himelitb 0 #6 December 14, 2009 I had a GFX. I hated it. It isn't user friendly at all. Worst part is its battery life. I gave it away, didn't even have the heart to charge anybody for it. I use a Neptune 2, although a hate the logbook, it's not user friendly at all, but Ive got a couple hundred jumps on both and I'd check out the N@ or maybe look into that new N3 if you can afford a million dollar altimeter;)
drdive 0 #7 December 15, 2009 I agree - had a Skytronics, also hated it, tried a ProTrack and love it."We saved your gear. Now you can sell it when you get out of the hospital and upsize!!" "K-Dub" "

sagan 0 #9 December 17, 2009 I was disappointed in my unit because in the ads it looks like it has a backlight. Aside from this it also had a durability issue. The plastic lens piece popped out on more than one occasion. I had no issues with it when used as an audible but I also did get a few of the strange things mentioned by others here. One ride as climbing out I noticed it said something like ERR. Overall I wasn't impressed but others may have a different opinion.-Patrick
