it will, but you have to remember to put it in student mode (short freefall). can't remember the code for it, but there are regular freefall mode, student mode (short freefall) and wingsuit (slow fall) modes.

Will it register freefalls shorter than 8 seconds in student mode? That would mean the student jump type actually does something. I've never found that in the manual, only slow mode is mentioned I think. (Then again, my only experience is with a ProTrack, not a Viso.)

But were any of those jumps logged as shorter than 8 seconds?

I have dumped off the step as well; my ProTrack, permanently in slow mode, mostly registers them just fine. But none of them are under 8 seconds. I (heart) subterminal openings! :)

i'd have to go look. i wasn't as concerned with the amount of freefall it logged (since i probably just put a 0 in my logbook anyway), i was more concerned with it counting the jump.

You can also just go in and manually adjust the jump number on the Viso. I've done that and it's not too difficult. Then your log book numbers will still match the altimeter.

That was the reason why I sold my ProTrack. I have a Neptune, it somehow manage to log my every jump.

yes, i've manually added jumps, but it's a pita, or at least more of a pita to do that than change the jump mode. i've recently switched to an n3, and so far i like it better. it figures out what i'm doing and logs it accordingly, and even keeps a running total of freefall time.

works for me!

Have my Viso set to slow, it logs hop'n'pops everytime :)

does it log fulll altitude jumps normally even when in slow mode?

Have had no problems with the logs so far in ~200 jumps.
However, if you land with the plane it might log it, so you have to erase it afterwards.
