1st canopy wingloading

Recommended Posts

my DZ is a bit more progressive than most....
jumps 1-3 on a 265 w/l @.87
next 25 jumps on a zpo-210 w/l @ 1.10 (2 on an F-111 210 same w/l).
just bought a rig, vector 2 with a Sabre 190 w/l @ 1.21. 3 jumps on it so far, plan on putting about 300 to 500 jumps on it before i downsize again.

Of course, it was a 28' flat circular canopy :)

I was on a 210 until about 300 jumps. with an exit wieght of 190-200(depending on how fat I was at the time)

Ok now that I have time I'll post my info

jump 1-24 I was on a 280-0r 260 depending on availablility
wl for 280=.64:1
wl for 260=.69:1
then I went to my first main 210 I jumped that until around 300 jumps
wl for 210 was about 1:1
( i gained some weight by that time)

then I got a 170 (still jumping itbut looking for a 150)
wl for 170= 1.23:1

I was taught on a Skymaster 270, with a WL of .75:1 for my first 20 odd jumps then I went to a Skymaster 230 WL of 0.86:1 for about 15 jumps then I went to what I'm on now a Hornet 150 with a WL of 1.35 : 1 and I've had that for about 340 jumps, I'll hold onto it until about 500 jumps then depending on my canopy skills I'll either downsize of change planform:)

Well not completely a broomstick.. but DD they weren't:P and no that was my early 20's when I started jumping... ahhh the energy( and metabolism) of youth. I doubt if I could survive a 26 mile run nowadays either. I bet I could still walk that.. in a couple days:)

Manta 288 @ .74:1
PD 260 @ .82:1
PD 210 @ 1.02:1
Sabre 210 @ 1.02:1

I'v also jumped a Sabre 2 and Spectre 190's both loaded at 1.13:1

my ideal Canopy size is a 150 at around 1.4:1 as i don't really care to start swooping but i want something small enough so I don't have a huge rig on my back and its generally easier to handle.

Yep still have it. Havn't jumped it in about 7-8 months though.

wonder if he has a friend with a Sabre 2 210 he could just give me. :P:P

Can't wait till i step down to a 190 and I get to just hand my 210 to someone at no charge. :)

Started on a Sabre2 230 loaded at .91. Did 6 or 7 on that one.

Went to a Sabre2 210 loaded at 1 to 1. Did 8 on that one I think.

Then on S&TA and chief instructor advice I went to a Sabre2 190 loaded at 1.1 to 1 and have been that since, with the occasional 210 or 288 jump if I'm at a small DZ with not many choices for rental gear. When I finally buy my own stuff I'll be looking for something in the 210-190 range

Wing loading + pucker factor= Max

Enjoy the sport the density of farmer mcnasty's in the land of the big BX, round eye's etc isn't as bad as real military jumps in SEA. You know the ones where you get a star for your jump wings.

Didn't see very many of those, stars back in the day.
You #1 G.I.:)

Happy VD:)
