I've tried explaining too....how people with so varied backgrounds and such varied views put all else aside for the love of the sport while we're at the DZ and away. Brian425 0 #20 April 27, 2005 I think it is really pretty easy to explain. I ride motorcycles and skydive. Both groups have their similarities. Here in NYC, I know at least 1 pesron per year since 1988 who has died in a motorcycle accident. In 1996, it was my best friend. I am sure that as I spend more in skydiving, it will be similar. The old, you know XXXX, he jumper at DZ XXX, he had a black mirage with a Sabre2. He got hurt/killed last week. The risks are real and we know it and see it. When you take risks with people you tend to be very close with them. You know that there is a small chance you might not see them again. You tend to cherish and protect those people. Or I could be completely worng. Maybe we all just like to hang out and drink beer after jumping. B The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.
