jasonRose 0 #1 June 9, 2005 I am venturing off to Meridian Idaho this week end for a family reunion and of course I will try to sneek in a jump during it. Has anyone out there jumped at Meridian??? This will be my first DZ away from home (yes I will buy beer for that) and I am trying to gather as much info as possible prior to going.. Some day I will have the best staff in the world!!! nbblood 0 #2 June 9, 2005 There are 3 DZs in Idaho, all in that vicinity. 2 at Caldwell Airport, Skydive Idaho and Skydown Sports. I don't know much about those two other than I believe Skydown is a relatively new DZ. The other is in Star, Idaho, Snake River Skydiving. I think it's the closest to Meridian and I've been there a few times. Great DZ, great people. On an old abandoned airport so it's the only traffic around really. Large landing area. Cool place. I like it there. They held a PST meet a couple years ago...off DZ at on the river, I believe. Anyway, it's cool. Blues, NathanBlues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute. Jason - Go to Snake River Skydiving in Star and tell Larry Shumard (the DZO) that his baby is now 3.5 years old and I'm thinking about coming after him for child support. Or you could just tell him I said Hi. Regardless of where you go, the Boise bunch are good people. Star is my favorite, but I haven't met any jumpers from the Boise area that I didn't like. rocket 0 #7 June 9, 2005 I coach/instruct at SnakeRiver Skydiving, but I also jump at Skydive Idaho, that is all for me. Anyway, I would recommend either one. I would more recommend Star than Skydive Idaho though, given your numbers, and I do not know your background/training/etc., but jumping at a new DZ, just off a 4-lane freeway, with helo and plane traffic, it may be a bit overwhelming. Then again, I do not know you or your abilities. SnakeRiver Skydiving in Star has a lot of open area and a private strip for the DZ. And like was said before, I have yet, also, to meet a jumper here that I did not like.
