pincheck 0 #26 July 7, 2005 No as we are not a large sporting family but at least we care about each other and this is reflected in all the Advice given as well as bringing us together. Billy-Sonic Haggis Flickr-Fun

tigra 0 #28 July 7, 2005 What's old information to you is new to someone else. Also, is there really another place to discus incidents and training issues? How many dzs do that regularly anymore? Yes, some discussions become a little heated. The preventable incidents so familiar to previous ones can be disheartening. But, no I personally don't think the site has outlived its usefulness. SkydiveNFlorida 0 #29 July 7, 2005 QuoteSo I've been wondering. I read the same stuff day in and day out. Argue about the same things day in and day out. Read the same incidents day in and day out. My thoughts exactly. If I wasn't bored as hell at work I wouldn't be on this site, you'll probably not see me around here as much soon (quitting in a week!) Some things do come up of interest, and the incidents forum seems to be where most of that happens although I try not to post there because I don't want to crowd it with noise (I with others would do the same!) QuoteHas this site reached the end of it's usefulness from an educational point of view? For the most part, yes. But, it gives people somewhere to kill time and talk skydiving. And, sometimes we need to be reminded of things that we already know (sometimes, not 8 times a day!) jmo, -A

droquette 0 #33 July 8, 2005 QuoteI see your point and I have since grown bored with the same old rhetoric BUT I remember how fun it was when I was the the one posting the rhetoric has it outlived its usefulness? it depends on what you were using it for? I use to use it for letting people know where I was going to be since I traveled quite a bit. I dont travel so much now so I use it for the OTHER forums now. hey man... you have over 14,000 posts.... there is no way you could ever get tired of DZ.com....is 14k a record?????????HISPA 72 ----- "Muff Brother" 3733

Frenchy68 0 #35 July 9, 2005 I reviewed every single one of my 5,148 posts, and I am surprised to notice that all of them are filled with relevant information susceptible to make this world a better place to live. ladyskydiver 0 #36 July 9, 2005 No. I'm constantly learning new things from DZ.com and even though some questions get asked multiple times in multiple ways, it's always refreshing to see the various ways to say the same thing. How one person learns is not necessarily how another learns and seeing the variety is helpful. There are a few forums that I lurk because at this point in my skydiving career, I'm not ready to start playing/doing. And when the time comes for me to play in that aspect of the sport, I've got a wonderful resource to check out - and tons of wonderful people to help me learn.Life is short! Break the rules!
