Brains 2 #1 August 24, 2005 So i just got back from three days in Boulder, CO. I went to see the White Stripes play at Redrock Amphitheatre. What a kick ass show. Anyway, i think i want to move to Boulder. Cool town, great vibe, cool people. And if you ever have the chance to see someone perform at Redrocks, DO IT!! Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
marcandalysse 0 #2 August 24, 2005 My friends saw the Beatles play at Red Rocks a loooong time ago. We got teargassed there watching Tull in early '70s... I went to school in Boulder, it sure is nice there....assuming you can find an affordable place to live! marc "The reason angels can fly is that they take themselves so lightly." --GK Chesterton

You've obviously never heard of the people's republic of boulder...Interesting town, cool people, a vibe of their own. Wouldn't ever want to live there though. Nice place to visit and people watch though... QuoteAnd if you ever have the chance to see someone perform at Redrocks, DO IT!! Definitely take this advice.------ Michael
davedlg 0 #4 August 24, 2005 I lived there for 5 years and went to school there. I enjoyed my time there. It is a beautiful place with a lot of fun stuff to do (and 15 mins from a DZ!). That said, I think that the culture of Boulder is changing. Some of the more recent decisions made by the city are changing the socioeconomic makeup of the town. Housing prices are through the roof. Boulder has slowly been changing from a cool little hippy college town into a place full of rich wannabe hippies and trust fund baby college kids. Don't get me wrong, I love Boulder and there are still a lot of cool people there, (in fact I just got back from hanging out at a bar in Boulder) but I would definatly not want to live there again. Red Rocks is awesome. I live 10 mins from there and love hearing the shows from my backyard. Every show I have been there has been an amazing experience. A few weeks ago, I watched The Princess Bride there for movie night...it was great fun!
tdog 0 #5 August 24, 2005 Even better than seeing a show at Red Rocks is LIGHTING the show! I have designed/ran the lights for a bunch of bands there... Cypress Hill, Nickleback, Kid Rock, Gypsy Kings, Galactic, Lil Jon, Our Lady Peice, Ludacris, Molotov, Blues Traveler, etc Blues Traveler: http://www.indigox.com/Travis%27%20Photo%20Album/Lighting/slides/Blues%20Traveler%20Red%20Rocks%202004%20-%207.html Nickleback: http://www.indigox.com/Travis%27%20Photo%20Album/Lighting/slides/Nickleback%20@%20Red%20Rocks%202.html Another Nickleback: http://www.indigox.com/Travis%27%20Photo%20Album/Lighting/slides/Nickleback%20@%20Red%20Rocks%201.html And attached - a photo of the audience from the perspective of the lighting guy's position at Front of House... I love redrocks... And some others

Anyway, i think i want to move to Boulder. Cool town, great vibe, cool people. And if you ever have the chance to see someone perform at Redrocks, DO IT!! I like the fact that you can take a nice motorcycle ride north out of town through Boulder Canyon, pull off the road next to a cliff, and climb a three pitch 5.8 without having to hike to the base. It's a nice college town with a cool hippy vibe. Basically, it's Austin in the mountains.I don't have an M.D. or a law degree. I have bachelor's in kicking ass and taking names.
