$20 Stretch

Recommended Posts

When I was in Australia I was about as broke as they come...

Hmm, yeah I'd buy a few things of Ramen (that's a couple meals), some jars of peanut butter (that'll definitely make at least a week of meals).

Then take the hike down to the dropzone, pack for the day, then miraculously that $20 turns into $100.

I'd say 2 weeks if you absolutely must do it.

One jar peanut butter - $3
Two cheap loaves of bread - $2.50
One dozen eggs - $2.00
Ten packages of ramen noodles - $1.00

There's twenty sammiches and ten noodles, with the eggs for variety six or more times - 30 meals. Food for a week for under $9.

Leaving $11 for beer.

Welcome to the life of a broke college student! You all speak in hypotheticals, but after the money i spend on jumping, that sounds about like what i have left. I'm a big fan of the ramen, and you can get a "real dinner" stoffers for $2. Yum. And you can buy a 12-pack of natty for $7. Looks like I've got my week planned....

Was I the only one that thought these two threads were somehow related :o:D

You can have it good, fast, or cheap: pick two.

So my remaining $10 may need to go towards a few more gallons after T.S. Katrina passes.

Just remember that you won't be able to pump gas if electricity goes out in your area. That was a big problem up here last year. You might want to go now.

We've been told to stay indoors and off the road for the next 24 hours since they think Katrina will be reaching landfall early this evening now vs overnight.
If we lose power, I don't plan to go anywhere anyway unless I can walk there. Thanks for the headsup though:)
