kelel01 1 #1 July 24, 2008 I sold my reserve to a friend, and before I box it up, I need to know what normally goes with a reserve, compared to what stays with the container. Could someone please tell me which items (if any) I should send from the list below (and suggest others, if necessary)? Toggles Freebag Pilot Chute Repack Card Thank you! beowulf 1 #2 July 24, 2008 I believe the free bag, pilot chute, toggles all stay with the container. Not sure about the repack card but if I had to geuss I would say it also stays with the container.
dragon2 0 #3 July 24, 2008 Canopy + slider + links + paperwork if any about said canopy. This goes for both main and reserve canopies. Everything else goes with the rig. If you box it up, LEAVE THE CANOPY ON THE LINKS and connect each link to the right hole on a canopy card if you have one or make your own. Attach the steering lines to the right holes. Daisy chain the lines. ciel bleu, Saskia
wildfan75 1 #4 July 24, 2008 All toggles, pilot chute, d-bag, reserve pilot chute/freebag, and all handles are part of the container. Do not send them with the reserve. I've heard the packing card go both ways (container or reserve?). Make a copy of the reserve card and ship it with the reserve and keep the packing card with the container. Anyone---please feel free to correct me I'm wrong.
kelel01 1 #5 July 24, 2008 Thanks, everybody! That's what I thought. Of course, I didn't think of it until AFTER I boxed it up (with the freebag and PC), but at least it came to me before I sent it.
VTmotoMike08 0 #6 July 24, 2008 I see that you jump a Wings container, which has an external pop top type reserve PC. It is probably custom colored for your rig so I don't think anyone else wants it
kelel01 1 #7 July 24, 2008 Yeah, I did remember to take off the pop-top.
likestojump 3 #8 July 24, 2008 Quote Yeah, I did remember to take off the pop-top. canopy and link/slinks and data card NOTHING ELSE. I would also suggest making a copy of the data card for yourself, just in case it has any container mods listed, and since it will have all your AAD info (in case you have one) In the past when buying reserves I got : toggles (lots of times) freebag + pc and the worst was ...... reserve canopy on the risers.. that is they were severed with scissors.... kelel01 1 #9 July 24, 2008 It did take me a while to remember how to get the toggles off (that was almost another post in this forum), but scissors never even entered my consciousness. Some people . . . Thanks so much for all the input, guys!
DougH 270 #10 July 24, 2008 More bang for your buck. They probably were junking the container and didn't want to deal with the rapide links.... I hope. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
