What book is on your night stand?

Another Country by James Baldwin. I had to read it for school, but it actually turned out to be quite decent. Im re-reading it now to get what I missed and for a paper thats due in a week.

Outstanding book. If you like Baldwin much, my favorite is "If Beale Street Could Talk." That one really got me going on him. (He's one of my favorite authors.)

OK, Looks like I'm the odd man out, but I have one book there.

Been there for years.

Read it all the time.

Starts with Genesis and Exodus...

I have this on my nightstand. I just turned 30 recently and I need to start taking care of my body more.

Not at all what I expected when I clicked but clever nonetheless...:P

The PADI Open Water Diver Course Textbook.

Oh, I read that one about this time last year. Mesmerizing. :|

Just got into a new one. It's fantasy, but not like the LoTR stuff. Very engaging read.

Eragon
by: Christopher Paolini

Anyone else read it?

We have Eragon on tape. My son and I have been listening to it when we travel. It's impressive that a teenager wrote it. Good book.

Skyflying, Wingsuits in Motion and Me Talk Pretty One Day:)

Same with me on the wingsuit book... But, it really is, "what files are on your laptop hard drive which is on your nightstand..." And, I think I have the skydivingmovies.com website mirrored, in addition to a lot of skydiving reference materials.

OK, OK, the Good Book isn't the only one there. I also have The Parachute and its Pilot (3rd Edition, signed). It's almost as much of an inspiration as the much older one sitting next to it...

(p.s. See people! I DID get over being labeled a DG in '02!)

Yeah but everytime I get bored with it, I go look at my shiney new SCUBA gear and think "Can't play with you till I finish this stuff....."

Mine has been sitting in the gear bag since I took the course last year. Methinks it's time to schedule a trip to a warmer climate for some diving. I'm just not that into the murky local diving scene to invest in a dry suit, and it's too effing cold to do with a rental wetsuit. Brrrr....

Irish Fairy & Folk Tales (Yeats)

Thanks! I've been looking for a decent anthology for ages; I didn't know Yeats had edited one. I'll pick that up this evening :)

In my bag (I tend to read on the bus/train):

A Deepness In The Sky - Vernor Vinge
Mental Training For Skydiving & Life - John DeRosalia
