college cheap dates?

I was wanting to get everyone's experiences in college and what ideas they had/carried out for dates. Obviously jumping takes a big toll on my wallet, so what are some good ideas for taking girls out on a small budget? alex

Dont take them out man. Take them in. Cook for them. Many a lady met there doom at the hands of my feable culinary experiments.

MUWAHAHA. No really though, ask any chick, cooking for them, well they love it. But it is a second date thing. First date - take them to the DZ, teach them to pack, tell them babe - this is what it will be like to be my babys momma. Then she can pay for din din.

Actually, if she's worth a darn, she won't object to a visit to an art gallery or museum and then dessert at a coffee shop or something.

You are going to get some silly answers on here. I am going to actually reply with some legit ideas.

Try to be original. Maybe Mini-Golf or go carts and then Like a desert or coffee place. (I personally do not like coffee, I just know many people do.)

It really does not take much to keep a woman's attention. As long as you do not act goofy and talk with intelligence. Listen to their stories.

Most women are wanting good conversation and relaxed fun without any pressures.

Anyway, there is my take. You are in the South so it is warmer and I gave only two ideas.

Maybe even Horseback. Nice slow ride on a trail. Just make sure she is not petrified of horses. It happened to me. I was scolded for making it a suprise.

IF you're talking about who I think you're talking about, first bring her over to my house for "cheap date prep school".
I will show her how it's going to work out and get her expectations low enough for you to shine when I graduate her.


No really...if it's her, how can you possibly be thinking "cheap"? She's worth a splurge or two, at least!

In any case, how about:
1. On-campus concert series.
2. On-campus theater productions.
3. Backyard cookout at home.
4. Overnight camping trip to nearby woods.
5. Walking tour scavenger hunt.
6. Make a game out of it...leave notes all around town for her and then give her a map to the first one, which gives directions to the second, which gives directions to the third, et... and the last one leads her back to your house (or to the specific venue) for #1, #2, or #3.

Go to Wal-Mart and act silly.

It's fun, there are all kinds of things to talk about, and this makes it great first-date material. It's informal, and you can buy a movie and snacks for under 10 bucks.

Mini-golf or Go Carts can get costly. And when was the last time you were in a coffee place. For what you pay for a coffee there, you can get a pound of coffee at the grocery store.

And horseback riding cost too much too.

My suggestion follows along the lines of some of the other suggestions here.

Most towns have some kind of free concerts. Do that and then make dinner at home. Or reverse the order, depending on the time frame.

For dinner there are many simple items you can cook up that won't cost an arm and a leg, but will taste great. PM me if you need any ideas.

Exactly. What ever happened to "a loaf of bread, a jug of wine and thou"? I don't know any girl who would turn down a little walk or hike followed by a picnic with some wine, bread and cheese and chocolate. If you're just starting to date someone, talking and finding out about each other is the best thing to do. Even better if you can scope out someplace that is really picturesque.

Ask her what types of things she likes to do...make a list. Then look over the list and figure out which one you would enjoy the most.

/seriously, girls in college will change their minds about anything in approx 15 minutes. time 'em and see...

an idea - flip open that free weekly/monthly paper on campus/in town and put your finger on a cheap event. doesn't matter WTF it is, seriously - just pick one and go for it. i landed myself and a date at an alternative jazz trio one evening that was phenomenal using this dartboard method.
