Is Sun Path going nearly out of business?

Recommended Posts

According to this article, Sun Path is laying off 40 people in about 3 weeks. I wouldn't have guessed they had that many employees in total, and have to imagine it'll dramatically reduce their production capacity. Anyone know the scoop?

No scoop, but the US manufacturers' global miltiary sales are about 3X the size of their sport sales.

I heard my rigger talking about SP moving to North
Carolina.

They're consolidating, moving their sport operations into the facilities they have in NC for military contracts:

"...operating costs are lower and more experienced sewers are available in North Carolina..."

I had to do a double take when I first read this sentence... What, does FL have plumbing problems???:P

Looking at the date, I would say that speaks to the employees that do not want to make the move to from Florida to Raeford, North Carolina. Just an educated guess.

What ? You mean that they prefer the hot, humid, backwards shithole they're in now, rather than a nice new hot humid shithole in NC ?

Really, how ungrateful.

:P
