Eggshell 0 #1 June 3, 2008 I am working on getting an used Cypres from DZ.com. How do people normally do to have a smooth transaction? If the unit needs 4- or 8-year maintenance, should I acquire it first and then send it to SSK, or ask the seller to send it to SSK directly? Any help or advise is greatly appreciated. likestojump 3 #2 June 3, 2008 have them send it to SSK, otherwise you would just be wasting $$$ to re-ship it. get hte serial and call them in the morning to verify the status. Otherwise - the usual, verify the seller and try to use a CC funded transaction so you have some protection.
Eggshell 0 #3 June 3, 2008 Thanks a lot for the suggestion. I have limited experiences for online trading, especially in here. Would you mind to elaborate on "CC funded transaction"? Where can I get related information? How do I verify the seller? Thanks again.
likestojump 3 #4 June 3, 2008 What I mean is use Paypal - or credit card directly if seller allows. Or google checkout - something that lets you use a credit card :) Not a rule - just a suggestions for keeping it more trouble-free. as far as verifying the seller - call them on the phone, get their info and call their DZ, that should be fairly simple. and if (s)he is "overseas. unable to talk" - run away :)

mr2mk1g 10 #6 June 3, 2008 I did something similar a couple of years back. Vendor sent the unit direct to SSK with a note of what was going on. I asked SSK to confirm receipt of unit serial #(whatever it was). THEN I released payment (obviously this was agreed with the vendor before hand) and paid SSK for the service. Simple. No risk for anyone. Hopefully a genuine vendor will be happy to proceed on that basis (but I wouldn't rule out even a genuine vendor wanting payment even before sending to SSK). It worked for me though. Maybe check with SSK that this is cool with them... I think I did that when I did it... can't remember.
