Gotta' agree with Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs but must also add from Dusk to Dawn (not quite as good but still good). Oh yeah, Desperado isn't half bad either (the one with Antonio Banderas).

On a lighter, more feminine note: Stealing Beauty is absolutely awesome.

And on a super cheesey note: Top Gun and Footloose will always hold a special place in my heart .

Oops almost forgot a good one: Natural Born Killers is excellent.

I noticed, you mentioned Ry Cooder... any of those swamp movies where he did the sound track. Didn't care much for the movies but the music was great!

The best soundtrack Ive heard is to the film Judgement Night. Ironically ive never seen the film but the tracks are awesome and some 1 off colaberations between some good artists...

Grosse Point Blank for general enjoyment...

Blade I, II, and Trinity had good soundtracks for working out to.
