What movies have you seen 10 times or more?

Recommended Posts

Hmm lets see, Movies that I've seen over 10 times.

The Mating Habits Of The Earth Bound Human, out Cold, Twister, South Park: Bigger, Longer And Un Cut, Napoleon Dynamite, Beavis And But Head Do America, Office space, Ferris bueller's day off.

Most of these are thanks to my ski club. They like to play them over and over on all of our ski trips:S. I like them all but I'd say that my favorites of these are The Mating Habits Of The Earth Bound Humans, Ferris bueller's Day Off, and Napoleon Dynamite.

Office Space

It took me a few viewings to really appreciate that one. First time I thought "A few funny moments but overall it's SOOOO overrated." Second time (probably not my choice - someone else put it on, I'm sure), I chuckled more. A few more viewings and I appreciated its subversive genius. Now I own it.

Thank you.....

No, I haven't seen that....what is it about (Wings of Desire)?

It is the original source for City Of Angels. The basic plot and themes are the same. "Wings" has a certain artistic subtlety being german language and black/ white photography; "Angels" is more appealing to a mainstream american/ hollywood audience.

Angels: The Angel falls in love with literally a Heart Surgeon.
Wings: The Angel falls in love with a circus acrobat. It also explores the deeper existential themes that City of Angels glosses over to tell the plot/story.

Both are good. Wing of Desire won a lot of awards (Cannes, LA and New York Flim Critics, Independent Spirit Award) when it came out in 1987. City of Angels was was nominated a lot for its soundtrack.;)

I've seen Paris, Texas;) and a lot of other movies.

Wong Kar-Wai is not for everyone. I personally liked Fallen Angels and In the Mood For Love but I might not reccomend them to someone whose tastes are more conventional.

Ebert accurately summarizes Wong Kar Wai as

"Wong is more of an art director, playing with the medium itself, taking fractured elements of criss-crossing stories and running them through the blender of pop culture."

"...will appeal to the kinds of people you see in the Japanese animation section of the video store, with their sleeves cut off so you can see their tattoos. And to those who subscribe to more than three film magazines. And to members of garage bands. And to art students. It's not for your average moviegoers--unless of course, they want to see something new. "

Start out on a healthy diet of Akira Kurasawa, David Lean, Stanley Kubrick types of films before you jump into Fellini's 8 1/2, French New Wave cinema, or Lynch's Eraserhead.:)

The Sound of Music -the most beautiful and romantic movie ever made. Ever.

sounds like somone who mediates culture, not a critic. Oh, and reductive. There is a big difference.

Funny that you mention Kurosawa...the most Western of all Japnese directors. As oppossed to say, Ozu, Mizoguchi, Ichikawa, Oshima, etc.:)
