I'm Drunk Right Now, I Admit

Recommended Posts

This post is really a struggle for me to get out typo free, because I must admit, I am really wasted right now. But you know that feeling, that feeling that, even though you're wasted, things seem more clear to you right now than they do what you're sober? Well, welcome to my world:

I gave up skydiving over a year ago because I met a girl who was worried about me skydivng and didn't want me to do it. I don't regert what I did. I am glad I took a year off and spent time with her. She is a great girl.

But now, still at the age of just 21, I realize how dumb it was of me to sacrifice what I wanted to do just to make a 19 year old girl feel safe that I wasn't going to die on the weekends.

I never took the time to explain to her that skydiving is a relatively safe sport. Instead, I just quit jumping altogether just to make her happy.

Anyway, right now, I am confessing in front of all of you that I want to get back into the sport. I realize it is going to be a slow process, but my dream is to once again be back in a position where I have the vantage point to realize how beautiful this world is through the eyes of skydiver.

This post is nothing but my pact to all of you that you will see me back in the sport as much as I ever was before within 2 years at the most.

I love skydiving and I love you all. It makes me heartsick at the thought that I haven't seen my close skydiving friends in more than a year. I miss the air. I miss the sport. I miss the love of the world that I possessed while falling to the ground at 165 mph. I will be back soon. I promise you all this. See you soon, my friends.

The FAKE KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER!!!!!!!!!

Good stuff!
One question....whaaa? Is it going to take 2 years for you to break upwith her? Why the delay?
My reality and yours are quite different.
I think we're all Bozos on this bus.

So...you let a 19 year old girl dictate to you HOW you live your life?

Ya got two choices...
find one that will accept you for who ya are.

I had the same experience about 7 months ago - my girlfriend (and parents) were all very concerned about my skydiving. So I gave it up......:S:S:S

and started BASE jumping instead. Oddly enough, they're still not happy - they want me to give up BASE as well.

Lesson learned - you can never please everybody. :P

Just do what feels right for you. The right girl will be cool with that (trust me, any girl who is so distraught about you doing what you enjoy ain't worth dating).

P.S. I dumped my girlfriend just after the new year. She wasn't worth keeping.B|
