Carpenter bees, ants, and some rw???

Recommended Posts

Yeah, so maybe I'm just bored. I can't help but take the chance to awe at nature here though. I had a swarm of ants on my deck and when I went to investigate I noticed they had taken to eating or doing something with a carpenter bee.

The damn carpenter bees made 3 holes in my railing of my deck and from what I understand they do that and lay eggs. Well I guess the ants figured out the eggs were in there and attacked. That is why there were ants all over my deck. However what amazes me is that these ants killed the carpenter bees.

From what I figure the bees that were killed/dying were babies and that is how the ants were able to kill them. Looks like they got to them before they hatched. However some of the bees were still alive while the ants were crawling on them. Wow.
I think the rest of the bees, about 5 of them died from me spraying ant and roach killer all over the dang place. Good bye ants!!! Little beotches.

Upon further inspection today of the scene I noticed there were more carpenter bees lying on the deck dead or dying. So I had a little fun with them.

I have to say I am debating on putting them all, the ones that are still alive, out of their misery by using a few of the fireworks I just acquired. However that seems pretty cruel. But leaving them there dying seems cruel too. I ramble too much here are links to the pics.

What a way to go!:o Kinda horrific from the bees' perspective. For that matter, kinda horrific from the ants' perspective that immediately after their epic battle and glorious victory over such gargantuan foes, they're casually exterminated through chemical warfare.:|

I wage a constant battle against spiders outside my apartment. My place is right on the water so bugs of all sorts love it, but it's the huge ugly spiders that seem to be at the top of the food chain. Spraying keeps their numbers down for a week or two.

Your morning view is beautiful.:)

You've got to love kudzu which it is. I'm in Georgia, the state is covered with it. If it wasn't for the kudzu a few trees would look dead, which they probably are.

I noticed the half alive bees were in some sort of frenzy a little bit ago. I was like what the heck, spurt of energy. Then a closer look and the damn ants are back and all over them. So I put all those beotches out their misery with some "chemical warfare". No more half alive bees. Everyone is DEAD!!!!!!!
I was getting edgy on blowing them up too. :S
