flyingfencer 0 #1 July 10, 2007 Is there some simple rule for converting, say 475 cu in. of container space into a canopy size like 170? I realize it can change with the type of fabric and age, but is there a rule for zp fabric, or maybe a table somewhere? Thanks
rehmwa 2 #2 July 10, 2007 QuoteI realize it can change with the type of fabric and age, and gage and type of line, and canopy design (cross bracing takes a lot more volume), and ..... and...... and how well one packs, sometimes, it's just easier to ask the manufacturer what will fit in their containers sometimes, it's just easier to pack it and see if it fits yourself Edit: Seriously, go to the container manufacturer's website, most have tables for what canopy size/type will fit vs their container sizes ... tonyv 0 #4 July 10, 2007 Near the back of your para gear catalog there is a list of many canopies with their cu. in. volume. If you dont have one, post up your Canopy Make, Model, and size and I would be happy to look it up for you. -Tony (253) 445-8790 Velocity Sports Equipment
flyingfencer 0 #5 July 10, 2007 I figure it'll be a good thing to have around so I ordered one, but before it comes could you look up an Aerodyne Triathalon 160?
tonyv 0 #6 July 10, 2007 Triathalon 160 419 Cu. in. / 168 Sq. Ft. Keep in mind that the paragear chart is an approximation and the rig manufacturer would be the better metric. -Tony (253) 445-8790 Velocity Sports Equipment

tonyv 0 #8 July 10, 2007 Spectra lines. I wouldnt think they'd include the bag in the measurement.-Tony (253) 445-8790 Velocity Sports Equipment
dragon2 0 #9 July 11, 2007 There is a lot of variation in triathlon packing sizes: old fabric (gelvenor) or the new? Even within the same fabric we had 2 tri 135's that packed one size bigger than other tri 135's. Then the model: regular tri or hybrid? Hybrid packs up bigger. ciel bleu, Saskia
