Casch 0 #1 July 31, 2006 I haven't been to the mountain in something like 6 years or so. When does the season start back up? I'm hoping to do a lot of skiing this year, but don't know anyone around here that skiis, and I don't know jack about the ski season or season pass pricing. d_squared431 0 #2 July 31, 2006 Mt Hood is usually open year round for ski/snowboarding. If I remember correctly they close the last week of August thru the second week of September. I spent 5-6 summers there for training in the 90's. Here is a link for summer sessions. http://www.skitimberlinelodge.com/mountain/winter_rates.shtmlTPM Sister#130ONTIG#1 I love vodka.I love vodka cause it rhymes with Tuaca~LisaH You having a clean thought is like billyvance having a clean post.iluvtofly
Slurp56 0 #3 July 31, 2006 Is there more thant 1 place to ski on the mountain? We've driven through there several times in the last few months on highway 26. We've seen the lifts (not moving) and nothing but grass and rocks.________________________________________ I have proof-read this post 500 times, but I guarantee you'll still manage to find a flaw. Casch 0 #4 July 31, 2006 There's Timberline lodge, and Mt. Hood Ski Bowl. I'm 99% sure the ski bowl is closed for skiing, they have other activities though. I think Palmer run at Timberline is still operating, but from the last webcam shot I saw, I wouldn't want to be skiing on it at my level. There doesn't appear to be much snow left up there. d_squared431 0 #5 August 1, 2006 In the summer you have to go to the Timberline side to go ski. I think it is like 40 bucks or something for a day pass. After 12 pm you can hit all the parks in the summer camps. Don't forget to stop at Huckelberry's when your in Government Camp though. d_squared431 0 #6 August 1, 2006 Sometimes it can look like there isn't any snow on the mountain from where the camera is. Based on this last season I bet there is plenty of up there.TPM Sister#130ONTIG#1 I love vodka.I love vodka cause it rhymes with Tuaca~LisaH You having a clean thought is like billyvance having a clean post.iluvtofly
TALONSKY 0 #7 August 1, 2006 You forgot Mount Hood Meadows. Most of the skiers I used to know went there. As far as season it depends alot on when we get snow. I believe last year was one of the earliest opennings they have had which was a week or two before thanksgiving(if I remember right). Since picking up skydiving I have not gone skiing. Hey, I noticed you list Kapowsin as home DZ. Have you been out to Skydive Oregon? Kirk
Casch 0 #8 August 1, 2006 I was out to SDO once a few years ago, but didn't jump because of the weather. I actually haven't been in the air in 2 years I think. I'm trying to lose a few pounds so I can feel comfortable in a cessna again and maybe actually start jumping before the end of the season this year I've been thinking about going out to SDO on the weekends to get to know people and take a few pictures (amateur photographer)
