dustin19d 0 #1 August 24, 2006 I trying to find a head set w/boom mic or throat mic system compatible with the MICH helmet. Something that I can plug into a SINGARS ASIP radio while in the truck and also into an MBITR on my chest. Thinking of a quick disconect on both ends for easy changes, also so I wont rip out anything when jumping quickly out of the truck (something Ive done many times while using the Marconi_Selenia H4855 system) Push to talk button obviously.. Does this exist?
LouDiamond 1 #2 August 24, 2006 Try the Peltor system. We use them extensively and they work nicely(see pics). You're just going to have to figure out which set of connection cables suit your need. Don't know your situ. but we have actually had our commo guys make cables to fit certain needs. What your asking for is already out there I believe. If you can't find it I suggest you hook up with an Airforce CCT/Pararescue/TACP as they use a tricked out set up that allows them to switch back and forth among several setups. The Peltors are in our supply system so its no big deal for us to get them but I am not sure of your S4 capabilities. Check with the supply guy to see if its in your system and go from there or barter/beg the Zoomies for the cables."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
dustin19d 0 #3 August 24, 2006 Thanks scott, I look into Peltor. I found a couple of manufacturers who say they will make custom systems. But I think they are talking about major contracts. Don't think they will do that for someone who will buy 2 maybe 3. Our supply's been cut off, I did get an ass load of shit though before they shut off his credit card
LouDiamond 1 #4 August 24, 2006 Draw me out a picture of what you need and the connector types, etc and let me make some phone calls tomorrow and see what I can do."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING

freeflir29 0 #6 August 24, 2006 If you need specifics from the TACP community just email Charlie at (Remove spaces) Charlie. [email protected] I'm sure he can give you supply numbers and anything else you need to know. I didn't see any head sets on the page already but I did see a cool switch I need for my 117E Make sure if you write Charlie to put "Romad.com" in the subject line. He gets crazy amounts of spam to that address.
Gawain 0 #7 August 24, 2006 You might want to look into this site too: http://www.merchantmanager.com/tactical/headset_products.htm#PRODS They sell Peltor and some other items. They even say they'll make custom sets. If you're working with USAF folks in the field, check out some of their gear too. I was pretty impressed with some of the other comm gear I saw them (and Marine RTOs) with (they went out with us due to all the different operations going on in Ramadi at the time). So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! Gawain 0 #9 August 24, 2006 QuoteWhen where you in Ar Ramadi? Late '05 into March '06 at Camp Corregidor (east end of the city) in the Malaab district/slum. We were kicking @ss. Alas, my butt got kicked too, as that's where I was injured. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! dustin19d 0 #12 August 24, 2006 Spent some time at Corregidor, didn't like it there. Worked mostly the South end of town doing Counter Sniper/IED work. Don't know how you got injured but wish I could have been of service to you. My 4 man team working Counter IED for 3 months cut IED's by 69%. Was there Aug04-Aug05

We had to re-do some clean-up, following in the footsteps of some 3rd ID and 2/69 Armor NG units. Snipers still took some shots there in the beginning, in the COP too.
