Where to get tubing for slider bumpers?

Recommended Posts

I know here that you can get it at my local Jerry Springer try out (Wal-Mart). Ive found work well as soon as you flatten them some to slide onto the link.

Also you can try the hardware store. If possible take the link with you to make sure that the inside diameter will work. Cost is alot cheaper then those sold at the gear stores and are sold by the feet.

I hope that tis helps.

I've ordered mine from MSC Industrial Supply...small quantities as needed...sold by the foot.

Web site is http://www1.mscdirect.com/cgi/nnsrhm.

Tons of different size tubing...I don't have the two sizes I use with me right now, but you can use Dave's measurements from above...and price compare with the company he uses.

I was getting my tubing from a local hardware store.

At one time I ended up with some tubing that had an inside diameter that was a little bit smaller and was difficult to fit over the #6 links on a tandem rig. I cut sets of 4 bumpers. Then I would put them in a snack size Ziplock bag with a length of super tack and one of the attached sets of instructions (Printed on index cards and cut in half). I would leave a few sets at the DZ in the packing kit so they could quickly be replaced to prevent damage to the tandem slider grommets and excessive line wear.
