ACMESkydiver 0 #1 November 8, 2006 Please? I need to take a little pic and turn it into a pic that is 300dpp and will print 20"xsomething...I have to go check the specs the guy at Kit's Cameras gave me. Who knew getting a photo blown up was so involved? ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
AggieDave 6 #2 November 8, 2006 You need to inlarge a small picture? Ehhh...you might not like the outcome, depending on its original size it'll be grainy and look kinda crappy.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." ACMESkydiver 0 #3 November 8, 2006 Oh, well the guy at Kit's Cameras said if I used photoshop to resize it, I'd have better luck than anything else...and I don't have PhotoShop. I can tolerate some distortion...~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
davedlg 0 #4 November 8, 2006 I've got a full photoshop version, but I agree with AggieDave... Send it to me and I'll see what I can do. davedlg AT gmail DOT com
PhreeZone 15 #5 November 8, 2006 What are the specs of the camera it was taken on? If its not a 6+ megapixel you are looking at some serious distorition and grain issues appearing. If its a 2-3 megapixel I wouldn't go larger then 10*14 on it and even then will hav a lot of grain in it.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

I didn't take the original pic; a friend posted it and I 'modified' it.~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. ACMESkydiver 0 #9 November 8, 2006 Thanks I'll have to run upstairs to the main computer when the twins go to bed...I thought I had transferred it onto the laptop but I just looked and it's not here. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. Cloggy 1 #10 November 8, 2006 Best software for resizing/resampling digital files is apparently S-spline or Genuine fractals. Better results than Photoshop.
PhreeZone 15 #11 November 8, 2006 If you are working with a web resized version you really need to get the original. Typically you are looking at 1.2-2.5 meg file. Anything thats like 500kb or so is way too small to be resized more then 3*5"Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

normiss 622 #13 November 8, 2006 I use vso all the time for changes in size just like this. I have all the other fat apps to do it...but vso does it in seconds with no hassle...
