Javelin TJN - PDR 143 - whatcha think

Recommended Posts

Buy a container which can hold your main and reserve sizes comfortable. Stuffing a way too big reserve into a too small rig is not safe, it may very well hesitate when coming out. Also it is very uncomfortable on your back. I very much doubt you'd get a rigger to pack a PD143 into a TJN anyway so the discussion is moot.

Since you have never done this, your reply is useless to me. All the points that you make I already know. If you notice this forum is full of know-it-alls (both for real, and some who are just on a power trip). I know it's unsafe. I know it should not work. Yet please re-read my questions. Nowhere did I say that I am GOING to do it.

Get off the high horse damnit !

P.S. To illustrate my point - My container has the largest manufacturer approved reserve in it, yet you still advise me on something I did not ask for advice on.

I have had 2 containers with too big reserves, just not your specific combo. Hopefully no-one has your specific combo.

:)
The TJN is not for the PR143 but for PR126, It is an unsafe combination with the PR143.

I heard about riggers packing TEMPO 150 into a TJN
& I disagree with that as well.

The final answer is NO & Sun Path will advise the same. For the PR143 & 135 main you have the OJ h/c & for PR143 & 150 main you have the J1 h/c.

I hope this helps.

Be Safe !!!

Guys/Gals.

I appreciate your responses. I did not nor do I have any desire to try this. However I was just wondering IF ANYBODY HAS TRIED TO DO SO !

It was a veryy simple queston. So again, much respect to all Rigger Examiners, Master Riggers, and even Senior Riggers (j/k) - I consider this topic closed.

I have TJNK with 143 (don't know if there is any noticable difference between TJNK and 'pre-K-series' TJN)

this is how I wanted it to be - javelins are generally loose, at least in wet climate - AZ might be different story
I have consulted sunpath and my rigger before
sunpath says a very experiences rigger can manage
my rigger is very experienced and did not have any problems

btw - I had one reserve ride on this rig

I assume at least SunPah did.

I don't know why can't you accect that TJN and PDR143 is not a fit.

I would like to point out the reply above as an "in your face".

PEOPLE, STOP ASSUMING THINGS !

I did not say I want to put one in. I did not say I think it will work. I asked for an opinoin.

you, my friend, are not a rigger as far as your profile suggests, so please leave your OPINIONS at the opinion thread, I thought I clearly requested facts, and nobody but snafuhere has given them to me.

A well known phrase about assumptions comes to mind...

... yeah, like a 300 jump wonder like you, who does not listen... go ahead and do it on your damn stupid way!

I happens to have a TJN of my own.
I know that SunPath _did_ design that HC and if they say it can not be fit there I believe them.
So I do not even bother to buy a PDR143...

Does it so hard to find out what to do? Trade you HC to anouther one which can hold a PDR143 or your PRD143 for a PD126.

it's hard to retailiate when you are the one who is wrong, isn't it ?

My HC happens to be a Mirage, not a Jav, so for the 3rd time I repeat that I was not putting a PDR143 into a TJN.

insulting me based on the jump numbers I list in my profile is just a way to say "I am being a child as I have been proved wrong, and I got no other way vent".

Be a man (or a woman) and just SHUT UP when you cannot provide an answer asked for.

Sjeesh, you having a bad week or what?!

Yo,

no I am having a normal week. It is just really frustrating when people re-word your question 180degrees and then give you advice about things that you never stated are true.

I do thank everybody for the effort :)

In the end the fact is : Yes, it is doable, and there's at least one person out there jumping with that combo

The other fact is that manufacturer does not recommend it and experienced riggers advise against it.

Will I do it ? NO, since I never had any intentions of doing so in a first place, and since I do not own a TJN(K) nor a PDR143. It was a simple arguement with a friend that I thought I could get resolved by tapping into the "knowledge" of dz.com

So thank you all the people who provided the useless answers, and thank you the one person who can read and gave me the 100% answer.
