Info on Optima Audible Altimeter

Does anyone have an Optima Audible Altimeter??? Wondering if it gives you freefall time and speed like the pro track???

I'm considering upgrading from the pro dyter to something else so I'm looking for general info on differnt types of Audibles

No, it doesn't.

If you want that in an audible, you need to get a Pro-Track or Neptune.

L&B have other products that do provide this info - along with the aforementioned Pro-Track, the wrist mounted Viso & Altitrack come to mind.

I've got the Optima/Viso combo and they're treating me well. The Viso tracks numbers and other stuff and the Optima is priceless for it's freefall and swoop alarms. Having a visual and a audible that does both freefall and swoop beeps for not too much more $$$ than Neptune is a "no brainer" for me.

The LED you can attach to the Optima is also a nifty feature. IMO, it's definitely worth the extra $30-40 for it.

I got one of those for Xmas but I have yet to drill my shield and hook it up. It seemed like it would get lost in bright sunlight to me??

Visibility has never been an issue for me regardless of ligt levels.

has anyone every thought of using the swoop beeps for regular landing pattern marks. (JUST AS A REFRANCE) for turn points and visual altitude awarness? Like a learning tool? Or is this another bad idea of mine?

I use mine for just that purpose when doing tandems. I have it set for 1,000 ft, 750 and 500. I like that feauture better than the freefall warnings....
