ntrprnr 0 #1 January 26, 2007 Gonna be in Singapore for a conference. If it ends on Thursday and I book a return trip home for the following Tuesday, where could I go (within a few hours on a plane) for a long weekend on a beach? How far away is Thailand? Anywhere else? I SUCK at geography... Anyone? Any place to go to jump?_______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues." NWFlyer 2 #2 January 26, 2007 Thailand's totally reasonable - maybe 600 miles. You could fly into Phuket pretty easily... depending on where you are it's more and less developed. You can also get to Krabi beach from there, which I've heard is a bit less developed."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. guppie01 0 #6 January 26, 2007 Stop in HI on your way back. Not a short flight , but you'll arrive the same day you left, and still have the weekend to play. g"Let's do something romantic this Saturday... how bout we bust out the restraints?" kelel01 1 #7 January 26, 2007 Yeah, don't stay in Phuket. Go to Krabi or Phi Phi. Phuket's kinda skanky. Look into Bali, too. You could stay in Uluwatu for a quiet beach vacation, or Kuta for a crazy, fun, surf vacation. It's about a 3 hour drive from BKK, which in turn is about a 2 hour flight from SG. Taxis will go to Pattaya from BKK. Skydive Thailand, not far out of Pattaya, may be open for you to make a few jumps. Else, Malaysia (sorry, can't be more specific about where exactly) has a lot of beaches and is closer to SG. Alternatively, you could hit the tunnel in Genting but there will be no beaches there (but plenty of casinos, if that's your thing). Have fun! I spent 2 days there after a trip to Genting for the tunnel.
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
