Gordon Lightfoot has more complex chords and more studio tricks.....that is probably why most people think he is better.......John Denver just had a great vibe and that really came out in his music. usedtajump 1 #21 February 23, 2007 Saw both in concert multiple times. Lightfoot is much more intense live than Denver was. I do and always did kind of like John Denver because of his fine acoustic guitar work but perfer Lightfoot because uses more minor chords. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.
