RkyMtnHigh 0 #1 March 9, 2007 How long is the longest you've fasted? Have you fasted from all foods and liquids or water only or what? My mom fasts for spiritual purposes for days at a time....but mine is for medical reasons/absolute necessity...... _________________________________________
ladyskydiver 0 #2 March 9, 2007 Longest - 1 day...but that's just 'cause I had to do blood work the next day. I never intentionally fast unless I'm sick or required by the doc.Life is short! ACMESkydiver 0 #3 March 9, 2007 I prefer 'slowing'. The longest I have fasted, water only, is 3 days. It was to try to get my insides back on track and working better. It worked, but good LORDY was it a nightmare. And it took me several tries to make it through the third day. I do limited fasting during Lent, (I totally blew it this year though and I feel terrible. ) not meats on Fridays, etc...~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. jcecil 0 #10 March 9, 2007 If I go to bed hungry because I didn't eat that day, when I wake up I will not ever be hungry again. As soon as I eat something, though, hunger falls right back into place. Longest I've gone was probably 5 or 6 days after I got food poisoning somehow. Only thing I had was water, and had to struggle to keep it down or in. Besides sickness, I've gone 2 or 3 days several times before, especially during college, because I'd be so busy that I'd go to bed hungry like I mentioned earlier, then not eat the next day or two because I never got hungry and stayed so busy I didn't think about eating. matt1215 0 #19 March 9, 2007 I think 14 hours for an upper-gi and lipid count, and it was sheer torture. My appointment was for 8am and they told me water only after 6pm. I normally eat dinner around 7 or 8, had eaten a light lunch, and I couldn't get to sleep .
Royd 0 #20 March 9, 2007 5 days. I wanted to see what it was all about. Because my job is physical, I dropped about 7 lbs. and I really don't have any weight to lose. The only revelation that I got is,"Damn, your hungry."
