im planning on buying gear at the end of this month i have already decide on what im going to get for most of it but still undecide on the main with gear im currently 255lbs ive been jumping a solo230 what i want to know is the difference is between a 7 cell and 9 cell is, opening, flight, landing, home dz is eloy if that matters for each

These are all very important questions that you need to ask your instructors. They know you and how you jump a lot better than anybody on here can guess. Don't take my word for it, find out for sure.

Since you jump in Eloy you can demo mains through Square 2.

Do a search here for 7 cell vs 9 cell; it's been talked about a lot. Basically:

7 cells
-A bit more stable in brakes
-A bit better on-heading performance

9 cells
-Slightly better glide
-Slightly better flare

There are exceptions to all the above; a Spectre (7 cell) will out-flare a Sabre 1 (an old 9 cell.)

The problem with being 255# is that most gear has been TSO'd at 254#, azdiver will be about 270# geared up.
