DougH 270 #1 October 4, 2006 So has any one thought of a heads up display for skydiving. I thought it would be a cool product if you could get a display that could provide a read out from an instrument, say a altimiter, or a GPS, on the inside of a full face helmet (or a see through eye piece). It definetly isn't KISS (keep it simple stupid) but I bet it would be awesome for deaf sky divers, or wingsuit dives. I like those, but I was thinking a step beyond something that just flashes or changes color, to something that actually provides the given altitude in real time."The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

pilotdave 0 #5 October 4, 2006 Couldn't find it on alti-2's web page anymore but I did a minute of snooping: http://www.alti-2.com/Titan/titan.htm I tried it on at the last PIA symposium... pretty freaking cool but it would need a lot of work to make it practical for every-day use. I think there's potential though... Dave
billvon 2,394 #6 October 4, 2006 Craig used one on the WT06 dives. He said he almost never looked at it; too busy with other stuff going on.

Nope not the Optmia, the titan as seen above."We've been looking for the enemy for some time now. We've finally found him. We're surrounded. That simplifies things."
