SARLDO 0 #1 September 3, 2007 I finally did it. 40 yrs old and pack a day smoker just a year ago and I finished my 1st 1/2 marathon yesterday. I was going for 2 hours (i'm not very fast) but didn't make it. I was on pace for a while but my knee started hurting and I felt it better to slow down than face an injury. Managed to finish in 2 hrs, 16 min, 44 sec. I'm not unhappy with myself right now. One week off and start training for the next."Always do right. CSpenceFLY 1 #2 September 3, 2007 When are you going to do the other 1/2? Just kidding. Now that it is cooling off again I need to dust off my bike and get back to riding.

ntrprnr 0 #5 September 3, 2007 Well done, my friend. I honestly think this is gonna be my last marathon for a long while. My body is starting to send me a lot of signals, most of which are telling me to give the knees a rest. 2:16 is great. Be thrilled with it!! :-) Peter_______________ "Why'd you track away at 7,000 feet?" "Even in freefall, I have commitment issues."
