GARYC24 3 #1 September 7, 2007 After 4-1/2 year of weekly paydays. Today, company has change to bi-weekly! (next month) This to me is an extreme change in my budget and so many other things I cannot list. Anyone else ever had a company just decide to change payday dates? PhreeZone 14 #2 September 7, 2007 Yep, I've gone from Bi-weekly to 1/15 paydays. It takes a bit of budgeting then its all fine.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
skymama 35 #3 September 7, 2007 Do you really mean bi-weekly, or do you mean bi-monthly? livendive 8 #4 September 7, 2007 I went from weekly to monthly once when I got promoted from hourly pay to a salary. That sucked...that last weekly paycheck had to last me a lot longer than it was sized for, and I had to buy some more "professional" clothes with it as well. sharimcm 0 #5 September 7, 2007 My old boss did that... He changed the paydays from weekly to monthly! He said it was easier for him to reconcile. Monthly paydates can hurt ya for sure. It took me a couple of months to realize what a budget was... Just recently I changed jobs and went from weekly to 15/31 pay dates. I'm still trying to catch up... And remember what I learned about budgeting a few years ago. Bi-weekly would be every two weeks. Semi-weekly would be twice a week. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
GARYC24 3 #7 September 7, 2007 That's exactly what I said, However that's the way is spelled out in the letter from payroll. Seems like that is the term used. I really dislike this, after all this time, seems like someone just had this thought"hey, I know lets change everyone paydays!" I have alot of re-figuring some stuff! gary

A better reference would be dictionary.com, which lists both possibilities, but it lists mine first. What are your thoughts on the difference between semi-annual and biannual? GARYC24 3 #14 September 7, 2007 How did it change your taxes? To me it should be the same, however, I'm sure it will have some effect. Also, seems company is doing this to to streamline and company is growing. Probably, saving money in payroll dept, and paycheck delivery company. I have noticed that Nov would be 5 payday month (5 fridays) now just three check month. Glad, I still have auto-deposit !
Snowwhite 0 #15 September 8, 2007 I loved it when we went from twice a month to every other week. We ended up with 4 extra pay periods a year, and we paid off excess stuff with it, since it wasn't part of the regular budget. Sucked when we went back.skydiveTaylorville.org [email protected]
