Should I get a Vector 3 or a Mirage G3?

Recommended Posts

I'll be putting in a Sabre 150.

Here's the options:

a '95 Vector 343, sized for a 135, so a 150 will fit, albeit tightly. - $1200
a '99 Mirage G3 M2, sized for a 150. - $1700.

Both containers include a PD 143 Reserve.

Is there any reason I should go for one or the other, or just get the cheaper one?

Does anyone know how much harder it is to jame a Sabre 150 into a V3 343?

Had a Mirage, now have a Vector and luv it. Either are good choices, but one advantage to the Vector would be if you got the Skyhook retrofitted. Call RWS, give them the canopy make/size you have (main and reserve) and let them tell you if there are any issues with the container size, and what the Skyhook retrofitting would cost.

I've found calling is better than email for first contact with them: 386-736-7589

If you don't know about the Skyhook, just search the forums. I've have one and it came in handy with a spinning mal cutaway. It's amazing how fast and clean it gets the reserve out there.

Okay people ... just so you know: I don't really care what's easier to close.

Since they're both good rigs, the question is now:

Is saving $500 worth fighting a rig until I downsize?

Actually, I've decided I'm going to let RWS decide for me. If they say I can fit a Sabre150/PD143R I'll buy the Vector. If not, I'll buy the G3.

Thanks though...

Now take some of that money you saved and send that thing in for a SkyHook mod!

Dave

I didn't exactly save any money. I just owe American Express less.

And besides, I think I should buy a Cypres before I buy a Skyhook.
