I get one every year - Have been for about 15 years now I guess. Never get sick from it, nor the flu, don't know how long it's been since I've really been "sick" that way.

I have never gotten sick from getting a flu shot. I dont know of any of our patients that have gotten sick from it either. I give about 500 to a 1000 flu shots ever year.

Well, the purpose of any vaccine is to trigger an immune response, correct? Swelling, redness, mild fever, coughing and sneezing are all signs that your immune system is working which is why some people feel a little crappy after a flu shot. Makes total sense to me.

It's possible that you gut something from the shot, but highly unlikley.

At last check, most illness (other than some brusing around the shot location) after the flu shot was either from a source other than the shot, or psychosomatic.

Some people do get some mild symptoms from the flu shot, because it causes an immune system reaction. It's usually limited to a day or two, and it should never be as bad as actually getting the flu.

The most common reaction is localized pain and swelling at the injection site, with #2 being muscle soreness or aches. Few people get more than that.

we just got the flu mist a few weeks ago.

nothin like snortin a live virus (although weakened) up your nose. its soooo gross. And then you get to feel it draining down your throat with that sickly sweet taste to it... yuck.

this time, almost all of us got scratchy throats and such within a few days. nothin too bad for me. last year was worse though. oh well.

They make us get one every year, but a couple years ago, they didn't distribute the shot until February. I didn't get sick until I got the shot. 'Bout fucking pointless if you ask me.

Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. Personally, I find a myriad of entertainment value when beating it until it becomes a horse-smoothie.

Well, I just did the flu sniff yesterday, feel fine other than a sneeze from time to time, but I doubt thats from the vaccine.

Just curious though, why do they have the sniff and the shot, is one supposed to be better than the other?

Also, why is one live, and the other dead?

Nope, but maybe I should have, I think Im at the tail end of a terrible bout of the flu... had it for a week now, missed two days of work . My boyfriend thinks I need to go see the doctor again, says my cough sounds like its settling in my lungs, yipeee, thats all I need...
