JohnRich 4 #4 November 27, 2007 Cool pic. I noticed that all those little streamers around the circumference of the balloon were pointing up, indicating that the balloon was in a descent when you exited.
ladyhawke 0 #5 November 27, 2007 Very cool pic! A balloon jump is on my skydiving to do list! It looks like SO MUCH FUN! "It is our choices that show what we truly are far more than our abilities." - A. Dumbledore
kingbunky 3 #6 November 27, 2007 yup, he was descending. apparently they have to be (especially with a multi-way exit) otherwise the balloon will cork, risking a collapse with the sudden ascent. the pilot said they look for about 500' a minute, so when he says go, you go or you waste a lot of altitude in a short time! and yes, it's a blast. nothing like a silent, still-air exit. i ended up completing the front loop because of the way i exited. lots of fun though! you actually feel the acceleration from 0 - 120 instead of 90 - 120."Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." Skootz 0 #7 November 27, 2007 I can't wait to do a balloon jump. I am planning on doing one in Eloy over Christmas. I know that I am going to be terrified, but thats half the fun, right? I think the quietness will be such an eerie change.
