Which altimeter??

Recommended Posts

I've used a hand mount and wrist mount both. YMMV, this is only what's worked for me.

As long as the alti is fairly small, a wrist mount worked better for me, letting me put the alti at a bit of an angle, where I can see it at a quick glance.

For larger altis, the wrist mount was better for me. The downside to the wrist mount, for me, was the fact that unless you have the alti all the way down at your wrist, and flat against the top of your wrist, it can move around. It also requires you to turn your arm more to be able to see it in freefall.

I found that if you have a hand mount & place the ring over your thumb it tilts towards you, no need to twist your wrist. & thats for rw & in a sit ff.

Just a little easier, you only move your eyes, not your head & wrist at the same time, try it, it works.

I have my alti on my index finger and wrist. Its rotated towards my thumb, which accomplishes the same goal. I tried the thumb thing 4 or 5 years ago, I didn't find it comfortable or any more convient to look at. That's just my experience, though.
