Zeppo 0 #1 December 4, 2007 I'm making my Christmas one of warmth, skydiving and drinking. I'll be heading down to florida like many of my fellow Canadians, and also like many of them, we need to concern ourselves with travel insurance. My company provides me with travel insurance, with non-exclusionary coverage. Any medical emergency I will be covered for. The issue is, i'm not sure the expense I may face should I get injured in the US. For common skydiving injuries, sprains, breaks, etc, what can I expect to spend for hospital fees? What goes up, must come DOWN!!!

It's probably bad karma to plan on getting some 'common skydiving injuries', but regardless of your karmic taunt, you should expect to spend ALOT! Health care in the US is the purest example of capitalism, and similar to a fine art gallery, if you have to ask, you probably can't afford it. You can mitigate expenses for minor injuries by: (1) treating the injury yourself, (2) driving yourself to a doctor, (3) going to a walk-in clinic instead of the ER. And of course, there's always prevention! In a world full of people, only some want to fly... isn't that crazy! --Seal
