skydivewithme 0 #1 April 8, 2006 Looking for servicing for Sentinel MK2000s. Apparently Paratronics in Arlington TX is out of business? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

darkwing 4 #4 April 8, 2006 Quotehttp://www.pia.com/fxc/ The people that make them. Wow, I'm lost in space, because I though Sentinels were made by SSE, and long ago were moved to the "no longer supported" category. I have to admit though that It has been a couple of decades since I've seen one, and things of which I am unaware can and often do happen. -- Jeff My Skydiving History
slotperfect 7 #5 April 8, 2006 I was under the same impression - Sentinel MK 2000s were no longer manufactured after SSE ceased to exist. I never heard of anyone servicing them (at least here in the States). Steve Snyder died when he crashed his F-86. His estate sold SSE to a large aerospace company who discontinued manufacture of parachute related components. Kathy Grix and Roger Allen obtained the manufacturing rights to the Altimaster and military altimeter line, and started Alti-2. There was a military version of the Sentinel as well, the MK 2100.Arrive Safely John
riggerrob 615 #6 April 8, 2006 Oh goody! Now we get to tease mjosparky about going senile! Hee! Hee! Sentinels were built on the East Coast, I think in New Jersey, near the Para-Flite factory. They quit building Sentinels when Steve Snider died. For a while some guy in Texas was servicing Sentinels. The last time I saw Sentinels in service was 1999, but no one has asked me to repack one since then. Meanwhile, still FXCs are built - and serviced in Southern California.
