FrancoR 0 #1 March 18, 2008 Hello Everyone, anybody have an idea on how to deal with a scam from an online store? A friend of mine bought a camera on bestpricecameras.com, after ordering was completed he was asked to call a number. There they told him the camera was not complete and he needed batteries and all the stuff that usually comes with the camera, you probably know the game. He ended up paying twice as much (1500$) as usual for the standard package. Unfortunately he payed with a debit card and the camera should arrive tomorrow, they are also asking for min. 10% restocking fee in case the camera is sent back. Since we are both from Germany we would know how to deal with it there, but here we don't really have a clue. Anybody have any tips on how to deal with this? Thanks a lot. FrankIf it does not cost anything you are the product.

Amazon 7 #3 March 19, 2008 My friend just went thru this crap with buying a Nikon 300 The online price they advertised did not include the $200 battery.. etc etc etc... She stuck to her guns and told them she was not interrested in all the other things they wanted to sell to her.... then they would not sell the body only for the advertised price. She went looking and almost ALL of theose great buys were related to the same scam artists in Brooklin...all of the phone numbers on a bunch of different sites... all went to the same area code and prefix.. and only the last 4 numbers were different in different departments of the same NY Rip Off SPecialists... micduran 0 #5 March 19, 2008 I placed an order for a Kodak EasyShare with them and got an email that told me to call and verify the order. The guy on the phone asked if I understood that this was a gray market camera and that all of my documents would be in Chinese. The he said if I every needed repairs done I would have to send the camera to Japan. I told him to cancel my order. And he did. psipike02 0 #6 March 20, 2008 Report a complaint with the BBB. I went through the same thing with an online store when I ordered a TV stand and it never came. After emails and phone calls to the company, I put in a complain to the BBB. They took it and give it to the company and gave them 3 weeks to respond. On the last day of the 3 weeks, I got my money back and it was deposited into my account. Puttin' some stank on it. ----Hellfish #707----
BillyVance 34 #7 March 20, 2008 If your friend does not get this settled in an acceptable manner, slam their ass on this web site: http://www.ripoffreport.com/ I'll admit the BBB might work better, but if they don't, slam the fuck out of them.
