BillyVance 34 #1 April 1, 2008 Not saying this is for real or not. Let somebody else check with Snopes. In Zimbabwe, Africa, you will find the magnificent Victoria Falls at a height of 128m. The location is known as 'The Devil's Swimming Pool'. During the months of September and December, people can swim as close as possible to the edge of the falls without falling over! You assholes jump out of planes all the time. Would you dare do what these people do at the falls? But think about it, a couple of those people gets really close, even hanging over the edge a bit. You're lying there enjoying the moment, and then, oh shi- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! happythoughts 0 #10 April 1, 2008 When I was a kid, we went camping all over the southeast US. We went to one place that had a dam above the swimming area. The water came out of the dam and ran at a slow decline across some smooth rocks. Probably a foot deep. If you sat on your hands and feet, it would push you along until it tumbled into deeper water. You got out after you landed in the deep pool because, after about a mile, the river went over a waterfall. I doubt you can do that anymore. My sisters and I spent entire days sliding down that spot. Either Fall Creek Falls or High Falls. Can't remember where exactly.
Shotgun 1 #11 April 1, 2008 Cool, I just got a nice little rush of vertigo from looking at those pictures... which is fun when I'm in a situation where I can't actually get hurt. Not sure if I'd be able to go to the edge there, but maybe...
happythoughts 0 #12 April 1, 2008 There is also a place called Tallulah Gorge in Georgia. Karl Wallenda crossed a section in 1970. You can get right up to the edge and it is 600 ft straight down.

dirtyB 0 #18 April 2, 2008 I would do it, for sure! When I went to Niagra Falls, I remember leaning over the railing and looking over the edge, thinking how great it would be to get even closer to the edge.
