piercewhat 0 #1 February 5, 2006 I have looked all over the place for a 31-15 and haven't turned up anything. Does anyone know of a similar singer that I can use to do canopy work. I don't want a new machine from kmart either
nitrochute 2 #2 February 5, 2006 personally, i prefer the 96-10. or the singer 241 series tho that is a faster machine.
masterrig 1 #3 February 5, 2006 Finding a 31-15, shouldn't be difficult. I got mine, through a friend who wanted to sell it. He couldn't get it to sew... threaded wrong. At any rate, check Sewing Machine Sales (they're on the net), garage sales, sewing stores buletin boards. You could run a 'wanted' ad in your local newspaper. There was a 'ton' of them made. You just have to really get out and search. I think, they are a really good machine and as long as you keep them oiled... you can't kill 'em! I've seen them go for anywhere from (with table and motor) $150.00 - $275.00, depending on condition. Sometimes, a good cleaning will reveal a very good machine. Good luck to you! jumper03 0 #4 February 5, 2006 Check for a singer 96-45. I've got one and it runs great. Its a 31-15 clone and does light canopy work like a dream.Scars remind us that the past is real
