jtval 0 #26 June 5, 2008 No. Im not a wrestling fan but when I was 11 years old I used to watch it. ...in the days of Andre the Giant. (who wore the mask) I haven't heard any of that new MMA stuff but anything with Trump has the stench of cheese on it.Fedor v Tim silvia? Isn't Tim still under contract? cderham 0 #27 June 5, 2008 Nope Tim was released from UFC a few months ago. Signned to fight Fedor almost right away. Was not even announced on the Affliction fights yet. I think (my opinion) UFC might have released him knowing they have Randy tied up and this will take some hype off of the Randy vs. Fedor fight. They Affliction card looks stacked. Also it looks like they just announced today that Andri Arlovski will be fighting Ben Rothwell. another GOOD fight. should be interesting. http://mmajunkie.com/news/4502/report-andrei-arlovski-signs-with-affliction.mma UFC has also cut loose almost 100 fighters from contract. understanding they will not be able to fight them all. they allowed them to sign or fight under other organizations. Check out the Affliction card http://www.afflictionclothing.com/banned/ Chris It's Jimmy Time!! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Team-Fast-As-Fuck/6099474213
jtval 0 #28 June 5, 2008 That'll be interesting to see them fighting in other than UFC events. Excpet I won't be buying the PPV for them since its just too much. I hope theres a time (soon) that they will have enough sponsors to show this on live TV. I noticed UFC started charging for the "Bell Center" fights. They used to air them live on spike tv.My photos My Videos
cderham 0 #29 June 5, 2008 I understand the ppv getting to expensive. Back before we moved closer to work (1 hour drive) I had a core group of friends that all would show up and pitch in for the fights. End up running $5 each not bad. But now I am lucky to get one friend show up from here. There is no way I want to drop $45 a month to watch a couple good fights. I pay attention to the card and will only buy the fight if I think it is good enough. Otherwise I head down to BW3's or Hooters to catch the main event. but even then I end up with a $30-$40 tab. I don't think they will ever get away from PPV because people will always buy them and they make so much more. Bars pay a licencing fee of $1200-$1400 a year plus anywhere from $200-$400 per fight just to show it. Was nice watching the fights on CBS and Vs this weekend but they have yet to get the sponser money to pull together a card as good as UFC. unfortunatly. But we can always hope. bjjman 0 #30 June 6, 2008 QuoteUFC does own them now.... Technically, Zuffa owns both UFC and WEC. Quote You didn't miss anything other than them making a spectacle of the MMA sport in general... It is starting to be expensive now that UFC has an event EVERY month. By the way, did anybody watch UFC 85? I felt sorry for Matt Hughes...but then again, I really wasn't sure if he stood a chance against Thiago Alves considering how much bigger that boy is! And it was pure muscle! The other fights were really entertaining as well. Is it me, or does it seem like there is more "pressure" for the fighters to "perform"? There was an unusually frequent interruptions from the referee to break up the fighters or stand them up...~Built for Abuse www.skydivethefarm.com
jtval 0 #32 June 9, 2008 Lot of bad calls? absolutely. It was annoying. I didnt feel bad for Hughes. He is a future hall of famer. He can handle a loss every now and then. he only lost to GSP (2ce) BJ Penn, Thiago (and I believe one more person before ufc) for 50 fights thats not bad, unl;ess you look at three of those losses are within the last few years. That may be the sound of the clock ticking. You can't blame his loss to GSP, that guy is nonstop. I think Thiago got lucky. Matt's knee gave out and Thiago, though he may not have noticed, he did his job and didn't give Matt any room to breath. and Besides, Matt hughes is as much of a dick as he is a great fighter. If his ego is hurt, it may not be a bad thing. I never liked Bisping until he dropped weight class. He is faster and more impressive now. maybe he'll evolve into a great fighter. My photos My Videos
klingeme 1 #33 June 9, 2008 I agree with the unusualy number of breaking because of "lack of action", and what the hell was with the stoppage in the first fight. That sucked.
chinagirl 0 #34 June 9, 2008 I know he's a future Hall of Famer, I would like to see these guys retire with the last fight as a winner. I guess we'll have to wait for his fight with Serra to get that satisfaction! I agree with you on Bisping. He is a much better fighter but I still don't like him because now I won't get to see Hamill kick his ass!! ~Built for Abuse www.skydivethefarm.com
chinagirl 0 #35 June 9, 2008 I know! That ref jumped the gun! I felt bad for Vera even if I thought Werdum was going to win anyway...but then with these fights, you never know until it's completely over. Vera still could have won...~Built for Abuse www.skydivethefarm.com
Cyanide41 0 #36 June 9, 2008 I am not a hughs fan, but I think Matt Sera would be a great match up. JAMES

jtval 0 #38 June 11, 2008 I'd like to see him lose to some chump like (even though its not the same weight class) Houston Alexander. That guy came in with 2 great KO's and then gave up two ridiculous losses. My photos My Videos
