MrFreefall383 0 #1 July 11, 2008 The usual is the case here, still pushing myself pretty hard. Haven't done any biking this week, the onboard computer's still temporarily in the shitter, and it feels like the bike is fighting me, so it could need some liquid go-juice. Other than that, my 800 yd timed swim is now under 14 minutes, my 3 mile run has stabilized for the moment at 21:57, lifting numbers are increasing slightly, and this week has been tough. Although I'll be honest, it flew by. I guess because I had so much to do, I didn't have time to think about how slow the week was moving. Either way, I'm at the very end of the workout week, and I'm still in one piece, so I'm kind of surprised by it as I said I would be. That means next week is going to be even worse. ACMESkydiver 0 #4 July 12, 2008 I did a 'Power' class yesterday...that was cool! It's weight lifting -barbell and changing the weight upon it- to music. Each song is a different set of muscles, and it was really fun. Now that I understand how it works, I'll actually put some weight on the bar next time!! Today I walked home from town = 2 miles. I am geared up and about to walk back into town, do an upper body workout at the local gym, and walk home if I can swing it all before dark. I'm doing really well for most of the day on my eating, but somehow the 4-6pm timeframe kills me with cravings, even if I have a good dinner. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. MrFreefall383 0 #5 July 12, 2008 No harm in having a small snack in between, some raw veggies or something. Ideally, you want to have your meals earlier in the day. For me, the meals are at ideal times, 0630, 1130, and 1700. As long as I can have a small snack in between, I should be more than fine. But at the moment I'm so busy I don't have time for snacks in between. Once things settle down, the snacks will become critical, along with eating just enough at each meal. I used to follow the same general routine. My first meal of the day would be at 7:30, lunch at about 1pm, then dinner anywhere between 6 and 7:30. Small snacks in between, healthy stuff like some light cheese and crackers, veggies, yogurt, things that don't have too much fat or sugar in them. In addition to lots and lots of water, that kept me pretty honest. The water was the key thing though. I'd literally drink at least a gallon per day. That keeps you full better than anything else."If at first you don't succeed... well, so much for skydiving." - aviation cliche

eeneR 1 #7 July 12, 2008 Sunburned back and shoulders + sports bra = OUUUCCHHHH!!!!!!! After spending 7 hours at the water park up and down stairs, walking the wrong way in the lazy river, multiple rounds in the wave pool jumping in the waves and one hell of a sunburn. I did manage to get my sports bra on and only scared the neighbors a little bit with me screaming today and made it over to the gym for a cardio work out. I still have a way to go, but will keep on keeping. Tomorrow is a long work out, cardio and weights and must keep heart rate up above 135 the whole time That is always fun! and I am serious...it has become a game to me... Nightingale 0 #8 July 12, 2008 Down a few more pounds. The shorts that were slightly too snug last summer are a few inches too loose now. Sigh. I need to go shopping again. Must have shorts that fit for Prairie.

Hunger is a strange thing to get around. It feels like you're doing something really unhealthy when you're changing your chow routine. Truth is it's not, but it's the perception that usually counts."If at first you don't succeed... well, so much for skydiving." - aviation cliche

I hate sunburn. I had some the second to last week in Basic Training, and everything I did hurt like a bitch. Imagine moving blister-quick to put everything on with sunburn on your neck, and wearing a 20 lb. rucksack everywhere. That friggin' sucked. Sunburn = evil. This wasn't always such a problem either. ACMESkydiver 0 #15 July 18, 2008 Yesterday I did a 'Power' class -that's lifting but it's endurance lifting...you do a bunch of 3-5 minutes sets (done to music) with a bar and weights that go for each muscle group. It was groovy, and I modified as necessary so I didn't injure myself. Then I did a short bike ride with the kids for about 1 1/2 mile. Today I did a 9:30am step and lift class (aerobic with lifting), then went back at 2pm for a session with a personal trainer that was tough. I'm looking to ride my new bike into town perhaps here in a few minutes and just hit the treadmill at the local gym. I'm reeling from shock at the moment and intentionally eating stuff that will just kill my blood sugar and waste all of my effort. Some sick masochistic tendency to screw myself up when I can't deal with stress. So before I hit the bottle next, I need to get the f*ck outta dodge. It's going to take a looong time on an elliptical to take all these calories back off. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
