Selk 0 #1 November 30, 2005 Hi, My container (Centaurus from NAA) has 3 grommet for closing loop (foto), central it is natural for fribag, and what for top 2? At use reserve Phantom what grommet needs to be used?
KevinMcGuire 0 #2 November 30, 2005 I bevieve that it's for creating a hesitating bight with the bridle as a means to promote a sequenced deployment of the reserve free bag
riggerrob 558 #3 November 30, 2005 Install a Cypres loop (or similar nylon closing loop) through the grommet in the middle of the pack tray. Use the top two grommets to install a (nylon covered) rubber bungee cord. The knot remains visible, while the bungee goes down the lower hole and reappears through the top grommet. When you close the side flaps, pull the bungee up through grommets and secure it with a needle-fold of bridle. This creates a "staging/sequencing loop" that ensures that the pilot chute is pulling before any canopy fabric gets out. It is an old idea but it still works ... doubly important when packing a round reserve (i.e. Phantom).
