Best Concert You Been To?

Recommended Posts

It's tough, but I'd have to say, of all people, Billy Joel. I saw him and Elton John, and Billy just wiped the floor with Elton.

Other great concerts I've seen:
The Eagles (1994)
KISS
Stevie Winwood
REO Speedwagon
And jeez, Earth Wind and Fire was a fun fucking show!!!

Kansas truly sucked...

I'd have to say U2's Popmart show i saw in clemson stadium is up there...but the winner is:

Toad the Wet Sprocket, 1993 in my hometown. Amazing show by an absolutely amazing, groundbreaking band.

Three come to mind for me:

Pink Floyd, Yankee Stadium, 1994

Rush, Tampa, FL, 1996

Tool, Washington, DC, 2006
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

Best as far as, well, theres quite a few actually that fit that..

ZZ Top at the Cow Palace early 80's. The laser light show and really really really good shrooms;)

Stevie Ray Vaughn and Joe Cocker in Mountain View

There was that whole Skynyrd, Frampton Santana thing in Oakland in the 70's..

Those were memorable. I just saw Robin Trower a few months back, that may qualify as the best, but then all them chemicals are a bit more faded now:P

Without a doubt, The White Stripes at Red Rock Amphitheater had to be the coolest venue i have ever been to for a concert, combine that with great beer selections and Jack and Meg killin' it, worth every penny i spent to get there and back.B|

right.

Janis Joplin, 1969 at the Eastman Theater in Rochester, NY.

Grateful Dead, 1970 at the University of Rochester. The Dead dosed the audience with jugs of doctored apple cider. Then Jack Casady and Jorma Kaukonen from Jefferson Airplane (who were playing at a different hall across the river that night) showed up and jammed until nearly 3am.

Paul McCartney at the Seattle Kingdome, 1990.

Wow, were you like 5 years old at the time?:o That would have been a great show. I'm bummed I never got to see Hendrix when he was alive. I was just a kid.

Best shows, hmmm.

The Who in the early 70's, original lineup. Great show both times, but crappy venue. (Giant Arena Rawk)

Frank Zappa and the Mothers, early 70's, always good shows, nice venue with good sound, great musicianship.

Recent favorites have been smaller bands in smaller venues. Dropkick Murphys at the Marketplace in Seattle 2 years ago was great. Valinda and I loved the Bouncing Souls, a hard working New Jersey rock band that tours a lot. They put on a great, high energy show and we like their songs.

Can't narrow it down to 1, but...

Rolling Stones - United Center Chicago
Roxy Music - Student Union - University of Md
Eric Clapton - Xcel Center St Paul
New Barbarians - Capital Centre Largo Md
Peter Gabriel - Lyric Opera House Baltimore Md
King Crimson - Columbia Md
Robert Fripp - Washington Ethical Society - Wash DC
Little Feat (Lowell George years) Washington DC
Jaco Pastorius - Blues Alley Washington DC
Danny Gatton - His club - Georgetown Washington DC
Fortunately, I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug, uh, regimen to keep my mind, you know, uh, limber.
