6 inchs of snow in my Home town!!!!

My dad just called to let everyone know that in my Home town of Amite Louisiana there is 6 inchs of snow on the ground and still coming!! branchs are breaking off trees and the power is out.

It hasn't snowed there since I was like 7 or 8 years old and its NEVER snowed this much!!!. My dad is taking pictures as i type and I hope to have them as soon as he is able to get them to me! lol

You should try Cypress Trees covered with snow! Thats a Sight i'll never forget from my childhood!

It does look like its only gonna last an hour more then a small rain storm then clear skys. God i loved that post cold front weather! Oh man i'm getting home sick.

We had snow covered Saguaro cactus 2 years ago in Tucson! About 3-4 inches fell overnight. It was sureal! lol

looks pretty crazy outside there are big snowmen on every lawn down the block...

it snowed on christmas day here about 5 years ago and it had been about 15years or so before that..

we are getting an arctic blast this weekend...up to a foot of snow and temperatures with a high of 8.

guess it will be good for those who like to ski.

On Tuesday afternoon, it was sunny and 80° in Bryan, Texas. On Wednesday morning, it was in the 60° range. By 5:00 p.m., CST, it was down into the 40° range and snowing.

Thursday, it was back up into the 60's and not a snowflake in sight. (Unless you look at my pictures )

Ummm.... not so much. Think of it in really simple terms if that helps:

If 3/4 of the planet gets warmer and 1/4 gets cooler, what is the overall effect? A warmer average or a cooler one?

If there's more moisture in the air because there's less ice on the planet, what's going to happen in the areas that are cooler? All that extra moisture in the air has to go somewhere, dude. In the warmer climates it's called rain. In the cooling ones it's called snow.

Is that simple enough?

Maybe this is easier.... let's say you heat 8 out of 10 rooms in your house to 90 degrees all winter and don't heat 2 of them at all. Are you going to stand in one of the colder rooms and scratch your head over the high heating bills?
