Krav Maga

Recommended Posts

Any other Krav Maga practioners out there?

A new class is just being founded near me so me and a few other guys from work are going to start.

I love the simple philosophy, it fits hand in hand with our own self defence training. Simple so you can remember it in the heat of the moment. Also not being so structured as martial arts, missing classes because of shift work wont be such a big disadvantage.

Really looking forward to it.

There is no Worldwide Krav Maga classes near me so instead we are going to Commando Crav Maga (CKM). WHatever the politics and validity of the claims of the founders, its still effective.

It is well worth the time but make no mistake, like the others said, you will get fucked up in class, wear a mouth piece. The test just to pass to level 2 was one and a half hours and it was CONSTANT. I could barely move the next dayB|

till later have fun & love each other seeya mb65johnny gates....

muay thai is effective. but it would be more effective in practical situations if supplemented with brazilian jujitsu. thats basically what mma is, a hybridization of those two discplines. but mma lacks effectiveness in real situations because it doesn't teach head butts, small joints locks, eye gouges, pressure points, etc. krav maga does teach these things. ultimately the most effective martial art is the one that comes naturally to a person who is in excellent physical condition, has practiced multiple disciplines, is mean as hell, and has sharp teeth and a high tolerance for pain.

krav maga is pretty cool. muay thai is especially great for staying in shape. my favorite is brazilian jujitsu.

All those things you mentioned are good...and effective.
My philosophy was:
There ain't no rules in street-fightin'.

OTOH, the best defense is:
For the youngsters: Converse All-Stars!
For the oldsters: Red Ball Jets!
:D:D

My reality and yours are quite different.
